Homemade Quail Beak trimmer ideas?

I agree with all suggestions and replys and I understand your feelings about space. The soldering iron idea has been given to me before and I am going to try that because it should only work once and done. To my understanding the very expensive debeaker that Lyon sells does the same thing. My problem with the nail clippers is trying to so thousands of birds multiple times.

so how far is far enough? should you go back to the point that it bleeds? I ask beacuse my chucks are MEAN!!!!

if you want temporary debeakedness, just clip off the sharp tip, about 2-3 millimeters, for permanent try double that and clip before the pink.

I have just one male button quail. His top beak is curved down. But it hasn’t impacted his eating. He is over 3 years and has been alone for the last 10 months. Do I have to trim it? Does nature not take care of this?
