Homemade Styro-Bator & Quail eggs

I have 3 1588's and I love them. If you buy one you'll be very happy.

The BW we hatched killed everything in the pen with them and attacked us everytime we tried to feed and water them.

Well, we got the HovaBator - 1588 last week. OMG -- It was a $200 investment, be well well worth it.

Moved the eggs over and now we only have to open it to add water as is needed.

Day 8 today. Candled the eggs -- out of 14 - 10 show movement and growth. 1 shows the dreaded blood ring and 3 show no signs of growth at any time.

Pics to come of the new setup.

you do not have to open it to add water,

take about 8 inches of tubing and tape it to the small end of a small funnel.

insert the tubing through a hole in the top of the bator. past the eggs and to the bottom of the bator.

add water..

I have the egg turner wire there.. No big deal to do though, it reheats very very well.

OK, now tell me how you are going to add water during the last 3 days of incubation when you are not supposed to open the bator??

no problems with opening. Our eggs are hatching right on time. Just had to make it quick.
