Thank you.

no, he made it box/square shaped..with the lattice on 3 sides...and it is screwed to the inside of the barn wall, at feeding height for them....and he put a piece of lattice as a cover for it also...

Do you have pics?

ill try to get some..its really neat! we built our goat pen for almost free, from scavenged materials. the only thing we bought were the hooks for the hay rack and the plywood for the walls.

I definitely would like to see the whole setup. It sounds great!

I saw where someone cut holes in the bottom of 30 gallon drums-about the size of a goats head and out them up in a rack and fill from the top-screw the lids on and it all stays dry!

I made my hay rack where it could be taken down easily and would come apart in case a goat got caught in it , front foot I can send you a pic tomorrow if the idea is something you like, It took me about 30 min to build. I took two metal post like you put on your fence. I also use them to stake my tomato cages with, just peck them in the ground with a big hammer, take some dog wire cut two squares out attach to the two metal post one square on each post with plastic zip ties . you need to measure your goats with their heads up to know how high on the post to put the squares, next cut two 2 foot width pieces of dog wire the length of the 2 post you have in the ground and attach this to the square on each post making a v shape feeder using the zip ties on the square on the post and also the bottom of your feeder, and last put a trough under the feeder to catch the hay that falls out when their eating,I used a plastic drum cut in half and put the two half's under the feeder,
