Hello all,

Do you mind if I join in or at least try to sit in the corner quietly and listen?  Looks like an interesting thread.

We don't mind at all if you join in. However, no hovering, it's creepy. Just joking. Feel free to share your input or ask questions. That's how we all learn.

Oh no! I hope you can get the pipes fixed quickly!! Maybe add pipe insulation over the heat tape?

he did that last year so it's there as well. I think it's just part of the karma thing going on right now. So far 2016 has been horrible. Replaced a 12×12 section of roof last Friday that was leaking so bad it had to be removed to the ceiling. Yesterday we found black mold in the back room of our house. This morning we found a leak in the barn roof. Yup 2016 is out to get me. I will not give in though, I'm to stubborn to quit.

really, I do not remember being here, but I know I sometime find a thread listed and read or post on the interesting things, then with my OAD (Old age Disease) I forget where I was or how I got there.

This was supposed to be posted here but I screwed up with the tablet.

Anyhow if you post some pics maybe we can offer some ideas to fix this problem.

Where in the line is it freezing. We used to rent and the hot water pipe ran up the outside of the house BUT inside an enclosed porch. It would freeze there until I wrapped it with insulation and aluminum foil. It looked horrible but at least it didn't freeze. The heat tape offered no relief.
