Homesteaders

They are supposed to stay on until the plants are touching. The condensation keeps you from having to water and OVER watering and I drowned my carrots the other day but anyway that's how they are designed and kinda the only point of the top. I know it can also act as a green house to hold in the heat because it's sooo cold in the house 20 to 60 degree's warmer than outside.

My covers have vents in the side and one on top. While the heat is on, these covers need to keep the seedlings a bit warmer. But I don't want to drown them. The tall covers allow me to keep them covered much longer than the short ones.

On a side note I'm finally working again woo hoo. And I got my tax money back in time to cover the fuel and hotel until I start getting some paychecks.
It was a long dry run.

THanks. rancher so far so good. I made it 1 week and they're impressed enough to try and keep me busy. They say that anyway. And it's pretty laid back people.
Only 50 hrs but beats the couch at home.

Now we will have eggs, steak, milk, and calves!

Just a little excited here. Had to let that out!

Excited for you too! Do you know what breed yet?

We have a ways to go before we get there, if we ever do...

Yup, and I know you will be especially excited about this... she's a registered dexter!! She's the long leg type, polled, dun in color (but carries both black and red) and cute as can be. We've got big plans for her here! She'll be my old horse's full time companion (our steer "graduates" this fall), a momma cow, and share some milk with us.
