LOL mine are a week old today and have little tail feathers and wing feathers too. Don't worry you're not weird. I pick up my chicks 3 times a day to inspect their butts and feet lol.

Lol! Sounds just like what I did yesterday when I went in to check my babies, I thought one of them had been picking on the others because they looked like they had a bare spot on their chest and butts. Thankfully it was the start of new feathers on both! My babies are getting bigger and starting to try out what little feathers they have!

Ok, this was too funny not to share so I thought I'd put it in here:

My son collects rocks. Lots of rocks. Rocks of all shapes and sizes. He just happened to have found this one somewhere that looks like an ostich <sp?> egg. I put it near the edge of the warming corner as something new and interesting for the chicks. I honestly didn't expect them to try and hatch it!

Do you know what kind of chick you have? It looks like mine, and I want to know what kind of chick I have - TSC didn't know!

Mine are 1 week old also & just have white feathered wings, no tails yet!

The sign on the box (not the price sign but the shipping box lable they put on the side of the tank) said they were Red Sex-links. I also got mine from TSC. They are sooooooo cute aren't they?
