Honey, would you mind getting the BCMs? The ones 500 miles away...

We actually met online on Matchmakers and I fell in love with his essay and answers to the basic questions. His were so much funnier than the "normal" answers that I just had to meet him. We married 4 months later - that was 10 years ago.

A sense of humor can get you through anything. I did warn him that life with me would never be boring.

Thank you for the kind words. We could use a sitter, it has been a while since we last just left everything.

Thank you. I can tell a story too but Ruth is much better at creating the fertile ground for the unusual happenings of our lives.

Are we related?? That sounds a lot like most of my road trips!! You should try moving an old school bus filled with calves across the George Washington Bridge at rush hour!!

You give me hope! Now I know that when I move I can take everyone with me...and have my husband drive the van...no I think that would be pushing it.

Thanks for sharing!

Do you want to make a trip to niagara falls in the fall? LOL. I have 2 pigs I have to go pick up.

Good job completeing your mission, I only hope my trip goes half as smooth as yours.

Congratulations on the successful road trip. May your chickens be happy forever !!!

My X and I bought a mule at a horse sale one time, many many years ago.

He was not easy to load that afternoon, so we could get him home to the farm. By the time we got him loaded, he was named "Oscar".

On the way home, a tire on the truck blew out ! Oscar didn't seem to mind at all though. . . .

But, we were afraid to unload Oscar to try to change the tire. We were also afraid to try to jack the truck up to change the tire with Oscar still on the truck. He was a BIG mule and if he shifted he could pull the truck off the jack !

We ended up calling a tow truck, convinced the tow truck driver that Oscar would not mind being towed. He hooked the truck up, pulled it up on a low boy, then strapped the truck to the low boy so Oscar couldn't bounce our truck off the rig. Down the road we went.

When we arrived at the station, we had to convince the owner that Oscar wouldn't mind being on the lift so the tire could be changed.

I sat in the front window of our truck while they lifted me, the truck and the mule up in the air. Oscar stood very still while I fed him vanilla cookies.

Boy, we got some strange looks on that road trip !
