****HOOOWWOOOooooo**** ~ Awesome Coyote RP ~

"Maybe," Orchid said, "though it doesn't have any cunningness in it so I don't know why speak of cunningness would prompt such a memory."
Maybe it's because my cunning caused death, huh? Amber thought but didn't say. "Glad it makes sense." Amber smiled. She also didn't mention the fact that that wasn't the memory

Orchid could sense that something was not quite right. "I don't know if I trust you yet Amber, I feel like that is not the truth, I wish I could trust you, but I don't know. You call us friends but you would rather tell the alpha that you hate your past than your friend. I honestly don't know anymore. I spend every waking day, forced to face my past, and I wouldn't shut my only friend out, for fear that I would lose them. You are able to bury your past and I consider you lucky for that. But you are losing my trust when you can't even tell me why you feel guilty about other coyotes being cunning."

"I've never been able to bury my past, Orchid. As I said, it always haunts me. I was young at the time, you could say. There was a famine in my pack, and I was a greedy little thing. Once, I met a loner family. 5 squirming pups, a proud mother and father. They had just spent several weeks tracking a deer, they were about to catch it." Amber paused, her eyes almost glinting

Orchid was silent. She was a patient listener. She thought back to a famine in her own pack, how her siblings had laughed about eating her during that time, not quite joking.

"I quickly thought of a plan. My little sister was with me at the time, but I sent her home. Didn't want to share what I was about to get. I walked up to the family, pretending to be a weak pup who was abandoned and starving. I offered to help them catch the deer. They agreed, and we killed the deer. While they were celebrating, I took one of the pups and hid her. The parents searched and searched. One was killed by a cougar. The other went missing. While they were gone, I ate up as much of the deer I could. I could barely walk, I was so full! And then I dragged it back to camp, pretending I'd caught it. Weren't my parents pleased! I left the pups to die." Amber said, looking at the ground, ashamed

"I agree that it was downright disrespectful and rude, and I myself am ashamed for you," Orchid said carefully. "But our past does not define us. I will do a trial week, where you can come and check on the cubs, but be warned, one wrong move and you are not allowed to even see them until they are ready to leave." She thought for a minute, "Fair is fair," she mumbled to herself, "You told me a snippet of your past so I will say a part of mine. I do not trust kind gestures very easily because of my parents. They lured me in after I had left the pack, saying they were sorry, that they were going to be better and that I would be respected for once. I was foolish and very young and I fell for it.." she sighed, thinking back to that day.

Amber waited patiently.
