She pricked her ears, and realized that it was feeding time. Not like I would get anything anyways. Splash thought with a sigh.

She trudged out of the den. Her stomach was screaming for something to eat. Splash glanced at the food pile. "No, I'm not going for it." She muttered to herself. "Maybe I'll be able to catch something."

Orchid heard a new voice but was too hungry to look up. There was something inside her telling her that she should but she ignored it. Her need for food outweighed her instincts at this present moment.
