Hoop run covered in HC foiled a red tail hawk assassination attempt

I can't figure out why the hawk didn't see the hardware cloth.

During certain time of the day, the HC becomes almost invisible. Especially when a chicken is next to the runs wall. I even notice how the girls stand out against the HC.

Can only assume that was the reason for the failed assassination attempt.

I think they only see the prey...go at it full force until their face smacks the mesh.
