Oh my! Our Black Australorp girls started laying last week. Today we took the six eggs they laid and had ourselves a GREAT meal (with venison tenderloin). All of Bear's eggs are double yolked, all of Nenna's look much more like pullet eggs. Bear laid one soft shelled egg but then not again.
I could so get used to the taste of good home grown eggs. I am never going without hens again. I'd almost forgotten how good that is.
