I went to Rural King to purchase some chickens. They only had 2 breeds so I noticed that they use Hoover Hatchery. I went on the website and of course ordered 20 chickens. I ordered all female chickens. Now they will be here at the end of January. Here's my question. How certain that all 20 will be females? What happens If I get a rooster?
Has anyone ordered from there and got a unwanted rooster?

It is pretty uncommon to get all pullets, but it certainly is possible! :D

Here is what Hoovers own website says:
https://hoovershatchery.com/our-guarantee.html
"We guarantee all sexed birds to be 90% accurate as to sex."
"At no time will our guarantee exceed the original purchase price."

I interpret that as meaning:
If more than 10% are males (that would mean more than 2 males in a group of 20), they will probably refund a little bit of money. But only a little bit-- none for the first two males, and not for any of the shipping charges.

Any males you receive are yours. There is no way to return them to the hatchery. So you can keep them, butcher them, sell them, or give them away.

Many hatcheries guarantee 90% accuracy, and they usually are more accurate than that.
