Hey there! My name is Honey, and I'm an east coaster in Canada.
I'm fairly new to raising chickens, I got my first bunch about a year and a half ago & I feel like I've learned all my lessons the hard way with them! But I've learned a lot, not only about them and caring for them, but the lengths I didn't think I would go to to save my feathery friends. Currently, there are only 14 in my flock - some barnyard mixes, Easter eggers, Ayam Cemani, and Barred Rocks. I guess the things I love most about raising chickens in my backyard, is just getting to know and discovering all their individual personalities - it's crazy to me how much their personalities are different! I'm a gardener, and a mother - and I enjoy sewing, preserving, and graphic design. Currently in my home, there are 3 kids ranging from 6months to 10 years, and we also have 3 dogs (two German shepherds, and a blue heeler), and 3 cats. I came across BYC when I first started my flock, and I gathered some information from it but never decided to make an account until just recently when I stumbled across it again. Where I'm now a little bit more comfortable with my flock, and slowly growing it I think I would love to connect with more people in the community to not only learn more about the different breeds, but also about what other people are doing for their flocks to keep them healthy and happy.
