I've been waiting MONTHS for this day...she's right under a year old, so I was really doubting she'd ever lay an egg, since she's also bullied sometimes pretty bad, and lives with an ol' broken leg since chickhood.
Hope is named that because she's an Easter Egger, and Easter is the time Jesus rose from the dead, giving us all hope... and here I was, thinking, Her name is Hope, but she's the only bird without any (I had no hope for Hope). Well, I do have some for her now, because yesterday...SHE LAID HER FIRST EGG EVER!!
And I thank God for it. ;-) I SO badly wanted blue or green eggs, and she laid a GORGEOUS shade of green-blue, too, just like I wanted...God answered my old prayer I used to pray a long time ago "bountifully".
Sorry if I sound silly, it's just I'm super excited about this, so just "had" to share it on here, lol.
Here's five pictures of her egg down below. The first picture is with the camera's flash on, so it's not natural and makes it look like a pale blue, which it isn't exactly. The second picture is also from my phone, which doesn't have the greatest quality in our house's lighting. And the last three are of the egg in natural lighting...taken outdoor in late afternoon sunlight (which I think shows the true color the best, and looks more like the egg's actual color).
