ok, my chickens finally laid day before yesterday i got 2 eggs, then yesterday i got 1 egg, we saw her lay, and i was curious if the one that laid the other day could be egg bound, i guess what i need to know is how to check them for it, i felt under their belies and the br felt kinda weird compared to the others, but am unsure....

I highly doubt your pullet is egg bound.

It's normal for them to lay and then skip days when their egg production is gearing up. It's also normal for them to lay every OTHER day, or 7 days and then skip one, or just to stop laying all together for a while due to stress, molting, weather, amount of daylight, etc.

An egg bound hen looks lethargic. Sits fluffed up, walks stiffly as if they are in pain.

Hello, i'm new to this site but am worried about one of my chickens, and was iterested in your message..I have an egg bound chicken and i don't know what to do, She had bad mites and the vet ave her an injection for it but now she hasn't laid an eg some a few days and is very lathargic, tail down, and bloated. The only time is see any action from her is when i put porrdge down in the morning when she runs to it..i don't want to put her down but do you have any suggestions to help her...please??!!

I'm having a similar problem with my Suri. She's been on the nest for 2 days. She's been laying for about 10 months. She's a bit lethargic all puffed out and tail high in the air. She has eaten a bit and had some water but mostly sits on the nest looking like she'll drop an egg any minute. I felt around the egg area and found nothing. She let me touch her and it didn't seem swollen or sore. Any ideas?
