Tonight at 7 pm , I observed my 21 week old speckled sussex lay 2 eggs within 10 minutes of each other. They were little "pullet eggs" and the shells were really soft. I'm not sure if she is one of the girls that has been laying since last week but until now, all the shells were thick ( except for one completely shell-less egg last week....). Is this relatively normal for new layers?

I have just started free choice layer, until very recently they have been on grower, they are out in a large, grassy area with lots to eat .... as well as the general vegetable scraps and meal worms....

Perfectly normal for new layers. As you said in the title "She's just working out the kinks."
