We purchased two silver laced wyandotts and two what were labeled as Silver Lakenvelder chicks. After looking at photos online I don't think we got Lakenvelders. They are tan with a brown chipmunk stripe and brown stripe across their eyes. They were also two of the lighter colored ones out of the batch they were picked from at Shoppers. Please help me identify or guess the breed of the chicks in the photos. I do know they came from Hoovers Hatchery.

Oh my. No, those aren't Lakenvelders. Could you get photos with natural light? Or at least not in the Martian sun? 🤣

A lot of chicks have a chipmunk stripe appearance, that is the natural camouflage of wild type chickens. But if they were both in a bin with a bunch of chicks of varied appearance and they were all supposed to be the same thing? My money would be on Easter Eggers.

I am a little concerned that your Wyandottes may be gold instead of silver, too, but, again, the red is super distracting.

Here are some better photos. The chicks they were with were all mainly the same color and pattern but just a slight difference in shade of brown.

Ah, much better! The Wyandottes look right, at least. The other two I am going to guess Welbar. I hope you will share again when they are fully feathered, I am very curious to see if that's correct.

Thank you for weighing in. I will try to remember to post an update in a few months.
