We just got our first chicks, two ameraucana, a silver wyandotte, and a buff cochin. Everyone has their favorites, but mine is one of the ameraucana, and I'm worried that she might be a rooster. They are 8 weeks today and so far no crowing, but my favorite may be starting to bawk occasionally. Here she is, in the back. Hoping this is a decent reveal of the comb.

Top shot for potential hackle feathers.

And here she is on the left...

I'll try for a side shot when they are not so excited from trying out their new coop. :)

Also, I only have one picture so far of our Wyandotte, but if she screams rooster to you, let me know. My daughter would be very bummed...

Looks like an Easter Egger Pullet to me

That is reassuring. Thanks ladies! We have two Ameracaunas (or perhaps EE's, although they were presented to us as Am) and my concern is mostly because of my favorite's differences from the other one... The other Am/EE has always been paler, and had a paler comb, and is extremely docile to the point of being a scaredy-cat. She's also smaller boned. Their coloring is similar now that they are older, but I can always tell my favorite from the other because the other one is usually whimpering. lol. I've been stressing over trying to count comb bump rows (three? single? so hard to tell right now) and examining those hackle feathers and I'm driving myself crazy.

(We're not allowed roosters or I might not be so worried about it.)
