Or I was thinking on some of these for the amount of quail: http://www.flemingoutdoors.com/plastic-1-quart-jar-feeder---806---690.html

I know a lot of my advice gets kicked to the curb, but flat feeders for coturnix is the best advice I can give anyone.

14 birds/4 per flat feeder=3.5 feeders rounded up to 4=6 or more http://www.flemingoutdoors.com/plastic-ground-feeder.html type feeders on hand at any given time. 4 deployed, and reserves on hand for cleaning. If you need one thing for raising any bird, having X2 on hand isn't excess. It just makes sense.

It's Great advice, Im not kicking it to the curb, I'll draw up a sketch of what I'm thinking.

Well, if you manage to come up with a more perfect feeder, then I'll give it a test drive. The hopper feeders for coturnix are feed wasters. If after 5 years of testing, I'm proven wrong, then I'll eat 5 years of wasted feed....No, I mean, I'll eat my hat

I own no stock and get no money from the flat feeder folks, but if someone has a (new, commercially available) feeder that delivers more convenience than the flat ones....I'm all ears

Oh, Im not thinking of a new feeder, but a coop, With the feeder outside of the coop. I've seen alot like it, thought it was a waste of time, but it would be.... the quail could push shaving in it

Well, if you raise your birds on shavings, then they will push/kick them everywhere.

Sorry for wasting my time

yah, but in this new coop idea, I won't have shavings, only for the hatchling. How am I wasting your time?

Oops! I meant to say "Wasting your time". I thought we were talking about feeders and water systems. Sorry for wasting your time.
