Horizontal Nipples vs. Vertical Nipples

Ok thanks. I've considered the Brite tap (https://www.chickenwaterer.com/BriteTap-Chicken-Poultry-Waterer-p/upc-858728004141.htm) as well.

Went ahead and ordered a pack of regular horizontal nipples

Never seen that model
Looks better than their old vertical which had to be up on something to fill

Me Neither, thinks they are trying to catch up to better technology...
.....but it only goes into the drain(of certain coolers)....and will it freeze?
Oh, now I see they have a 'Freeze Proof' nipple....marketing BS, IMO, the extended valve seat not much better really...looks good tho.

Nipple might not freeze until the sides ice up. At least my uninsulated buckets with nipples don't unless the little cup has water in it. ..or they are dripping

Yeah, and that extension might prolong the valve freezing, but I have doubts.
...and they tout heaters in vessels ...so<shrugs>
Here's how an unheated nipple vessel freezes.

Yup, same here....and there are drips(from drinking not leaking). I just chucked a frozen chunk of shavings from under the waterer this morning as it finally warmed up enough to release from floor.
