I have several roosters left to cull, but I will post separately about some of their different issues. One, a lively and feisty PBR named "Perky" has an unusual habit: He seems to mate the ground. I've seen him do it dozens of times; he'll get low, peck out and pinch something in front of him like a piece of straw or a sweetgum ball, and then he'll settle and wriggle his vent on the ground. I've never been able to tell if anything was left behind... He gets up in a few seconds and crows or acts like nothing has happened.
My concern is that he's not doing anything so amusing and has parasites instead, and is acting in a similar way to a dog scooting across the carpet.
Any thoughts?
