Horrible but necessary decision

DH is taking her to the vet for me now. Oh God, I'm so sad. RIP sweet Cinnamon.

Cinnamon knows you love her. That's all that matters. May you have peace soon. Be good to yourself, and to your hubby when he returns home.

I agree and think that you are doing the right thing for your dog. Im sure shes had a really happy last 5months with you. Its better not to let her suffer. I had to recently put one of my cats down due to kidney failure and it was hard but it was the better way for her .

For those of you that have dogs with these warts on them, what causes it?

I know it's hard but you are doing the kindest thing you could do for her. My mutt is 15 and I watch him like a hawk. He also can't keep weight on, has cataracts and arthritis. He's been a great dog and as soon as his big brown eyes tell me its time to go, I won't hesitate to take him to the vet and have him put to sleep.

I'm sorry you had to make this decision - it's one of the hardest things to do. Be gentle with yourself and your hubby today.

thats a good thing you made the decision....the only thing I would have done differently is go with to the vet because I know that if I was dying, I would want my mom with me....

I am so sorry to hear about your beloved companion. I can't imagine how difficult this must have been. As a professional dog groomer, I see warty old dogs all the time, and the smell and sight of these poor dogs covered in weeping, stinking warts is really hard to deal with. They start out small, and by the time they get to be huge stinking masses the dog is usually to old to have them taken off. HenMama, take comfort in knowing that you did the best thing for your friends quality of life.

If anyone else has a dog with warts- have them taken off NOW before they get too big to deal with.

Kudos for doing the right thing for your girl. Don't feel guilty - as you said, she had no understanding of what was about to happen - all she knows for sure was that her last memories are of a loving home with caring humans.

Its a shame that we cant give ourselves the diginty at the end we can give our loved pets!

I know many people in the dog show world and several of them are vets and vet techs. Honestly they would applaude you your brave decision. I do too.

You did the right thing.
