The county next to me, Abbeville County, SC, still has many residents without electricity. No one was killed in our area from the storm. Down town Greenwood, SC had winds estimated to be 100 miles an hour or over. Our hospital was struck by lightening.

We were spared anything more than just some frazzled nerves so I am thankful.

I found the dead tap root. This tree was hit by lightning 11 years ago. The lightning hit the tree and then ran into the house and burned up a bunch of electric wiring. At the time the smoke was so bad we called the fire department because we were sure there was a fire somewhere in the house, like maybe the attic. Come to find out all the smoke came from the insulation on the wire burning. Talk about scary. Ever since then the tree has budded out and there were no signs that the tree was dying.

I climbed up on top of the tree today and just sat there. It has finally hit me that we were so lucky. This whole mess could of been a deadly scene. I did start to eat again. I mean I have worked so hard to try and get better so I can't let this thing stop me now. Today was a trip though. We had four chain saws on the property and only one of them would start. The one that worked is electric and of cource I didn't have a long enough cord. What the

We are in desperate need of one dog house. I hope to obtain one today. I hate to ask but if there is someone close enough that has a extra one I could borrow it would be much appreciated. Thanks for all the kind words and support.

I am glad you started eating again.
Sometimes tests are thrown our way , and I will admit this was one heck of a huge test, but sweety you passed the test. KUDOS for you !

I wish I were closer I would be there in a heart beat.
Put a sign out free wood, bring your own chain saw. I am sure someone would love to have some free wood for just the cutting.

My husband was down in your area last fall when all the bad storms blew theough and as hesaid with so much devistation down there its small wonder any of the trees are still standing. most of what he saw the trees were severely undermined by water.
We are here for you with nothing but moral support I admit Please feel free to lean on us anytime. you can always pm too when you feel the need.

I just saw this and I am so sorry. One of our trees fell a couple months ago, unfortunately it fell on the neighbors dog house and killed the dog. I felt awful, same thing too much rain for the roots.
Thank the Lord no one including the animals were hurt. Things can be replaced.
Don't get upset with yourself too much over the eating, stress is enough to make anyone not eat, I end to not eat during periods of stress, I get depressed and am just not hungry.

Just take it one day at a time.
