Ive been trying to get all the dirt out with a wet q-tip. But I can’t seem to get it off. And I don’t want to hurt it, if I push to hard it freaks out. And no I don’t have anything like that on hand.Oh no! That’s terrible.
Looks like he might have hit his head on the top of the cage.
You could try to gently wash around the wound with warm water, where the dirt is. Do you have any antibiotics available like vetericyn?
Possibly, I’d avoid that area. Thanks for mentioning thatWill betadine sting the eye?
Poor thing, wondering if little drops of water would help?Ive been trying to get all the dirt out with a wet q-tip. But I can’t seem to get it off. And I don’t want to hurt it, if I push to hard it freaks out. And no I don’t have anything like that on hand.
Both his eyes are exposed, I thought they were gone but I found them crusted over with dirt. I put some water in a syringe and put it on his beak and he drank a little bit of it. And what kind of antibiotic ointment? Would polysporn work? First aid cream? I don’t think he can see, so I don’t think he will eat or drink on his own. And what is aspirin water?Poor guy. It looks like a lot of his head and face have been skinned? I would flush with saline only, as it appears his eye is exposed and the lid may be gone? I would also apply antibiotic ointment. If you drop water on his beak, will he sip it in? If so, aspirin water for pain might be a good idea right now.
There is also a big gash on his back, but definitely not as bad as his headIt’s ok to use a apply a diluted solution of Betadine if there are no other antibiotics available.
And after looking at the wound again, looks like it’s been pecked as well, since the injury isn’t just on the top of the head
Hope he starts to feel better
