Tho it reminds me of a camping trip with cops who did the same thing.

Oh, my! That's horrible! I'm glad your flock is safe. If there is nothing else you can do tonight, lock up the coop before dusk and frequently monitor it. The others will be back, and raccoons are relentless little creatures. Be watching and waiting. I hope your birds will be safe!

Yes, and they are not small caliber pistols.
I was a teen. We ate the little ones the next night.

Also, I only shot when I was sure I was going to hit the raccoon.

Ohhhhh....much safer than most other rifles.

That's the good part about those guns. Sadly, I'm out of pellets. I went to Walmart today to get more, but they were out of stalk. All I have now is a BB pistol gun.
