I’m training Hudson for the up and coming dressage comp. I really want to do well at it. I think he will because believe it or not he has come so far since the virus started, I have had more time to ride since online learning stopped. And I have really worked hard on my grades as well.
We are about to get the materials to build the stables and the arena is coming along too.

Oh my god he’s beautiful :bow

I had quite a scare a month ago when we had wildfires here. Our barn and the therapy barn next door had to evacuate, and I ended up spending 3 nights at our local fairgrounds taking care of 18 horses plus doing "night check/top off water" on the horses from other barns.
Amazingly, all the horses remained fairly calm, even though they were mostly cooped up in stalls, except for short stints of turnout in the arena while we cleaned their stalls a few times per day. Nobody got injured, nobody colicked...The people in charge of the park were so helpful, one guy even bought a case of apples for the horses!
People in the community heard about us and the other local barns who also evacuated their horses there, and SO MANY people came out of the woodwork to donate hay, shavings, buckets, a hose, trailering, etc. Our local horse community is truly awesome!
We were able to take them home 3 days later, and it was amazing that our barn was spared. You could see a huge swath of burned-up trees, all the way down the hill, up to 100 meters of where we are! The smoke in the air remained for another week, until we finally got a good rain. Needless to say, the horses were happy to get home - they got to be turned out in their pastures and not be worked while the air quality was so bad.
I have so much sympathy for you folks in Australia, who seem to go through this year after year. Such a scary situation for you guys, definitely not one I hope to repeat myself.

Im doing good. We just recently got a new horse at our barn and my friend was the first one to jump him. We actually jumped higher than normal and he was really great. This is him- View attachment 2367674

He's so gorgeous. 😍
And how fun, I'm glad he's going well for you! I hope you guys do well!

Well, I have a dressage comp today :)
How fun! I've always enjoyed doing dressage patterns, a mare I used to ride loved it too but I never was able to work on it more with her because she died of colic last year. I saw in your other post you did well--congrats!

Oh yikes, that sounds so scary. I don't live anywhere near the fires, but I'm sorry to hear you and others have to go through this stuff. :( I'm so glad for the help ya'll received and that all the horses were okay.
