Does anyone know about adopting a horse from the killpins I would like to in the future but I have a couple of questions
1 do you get to see the horse before you buy them
2 would it be better to get a young horse or a older one
3 would I just be better off getting a more experienced and healthy horse this would be my first time getting a full size horse but I have mini horses and experience working at a stable
4 how exactly does the adoption process work .
Just curious I am not in a position to get a horse right now

We looked into the BLM horses awhile back. They have a web site that is pretty easy to navigate through. I think it is awesome that you would consider that. Do you have a trainer or know of a good one? The horses can sell for as little as $125. or so i think. It is on a bidding system. They have them in pens that you can view and then bid. They also have requirements, like land, barn?? stuff. If you have a good trainer this would be a great way to go. They need homes and the $$ goes to keeping this program/ them alive. Also look up mustang challenge. It will give you an idea of what is happening and what to prepare yourself for.
For us- we are in the middle of the pacific and flying over to look and bid then ship etc... was too much. Maybe another time. Some BEAUTIFUL horses :love

Oh gosh, that is a story... though, I am not sure what "off the track in Oklahoma" is. Sounds bad and so does the "brain chain" makes me nauseous (and super mad!!!) >:/ Honestly, I don't know what is wrong with some people. I'd like to give them what they have given. Turds. I am so glad that you two found each other and she is a lucky girl, things could have gone a lot different if you decided NOT to take her. Your respect (patience) and knowledge I'm sure have made all the difference for her.
Hombre is the one and only (1/2) appy and untrained horse I have ever owned and his Appy pops is rumored to be a handful. He is just starting to calm down now (got a new Mylar bit that is helping!) He was a terror at 3. I absolutely love his personality now, he's comical... and I got spots!! View attachment 1849263
What a beautiful boy he is!!!!
