What a beautiful pony! I love wild horses. I remember I went down to the snowy mountains cause I adore brumbies and I’ve always wanted one so we went down for my birthday a few years ago and on the last day we were there a brumby mare and her foal came down to the cabin we were staying in. It was amazing

I love wild horse too the ponies at grayson Highlands were not scared of people so you could get pretty close to take pictures
The mare in the picture also had a foal if you are ever in north Carolina i would definitely recommend going
This was a small heard it olny had 2 mares a foal and the stallion.

Wow, where's Grayson Highlands? Is that on the Outer Banks? I've only heard of the Assateague ponies, so if there are other wild herds nearby, that's news to me.

edited: just looked it up. That's awesome that there are wild herds in the wilderness along the Appalachian trail.

So because of COVID-19, I am home all the time and have plenty of time on my hands, and I was thinking of making a horse treat business as a fun, creative, easy-ish way of making money! I just have some questions for you guys to determine somethings!

I would make sure everything extremely sanitary, and likely wear gloves while making, if that makes you feel any better

1.) Do you care if their cute or not? This is very important because it determines the recipe I use.
2.) How large would you want packets/orders to be? Would you want different sizes like Small, Medium, Large, or if they're decorated 4 pack, 6 pack, 8 pack, 10 pack? This is all very important.
3.) How much would you pay for each size?
4.) Shipped in bags or boxes? (With boxes the price goes up!)
5.) Are there any common ingredients you wouldn't want in them?
6.) Are there any ingredients you would want in them?
7.) What is your favorite current brand for horse treats? Why?
8.) What is your least favorite? Why?
9.) Would you want Sugar Free treats as an option?
10.) Do you think you would buy treats from my business if I made one?

I made horse treats for x-mas presents a few years back and it was a pretty good hit.
I'd love to see a cute shape, like heart or more clever if it were an easy thing to do.
I used fruit, dried like prunes & apricots and frozen banana's but because of banana's they needed to be refrigerated or frozen. I also used oats/no flour (maybe oat flour) and I heard of some people using sweet feed and I'd like to see carrot too. I think a table spoon size is a good size on or around that.
I would love to see and hear about your treat adventure. I think it is a great idea. Especially with most of us having more time to connect with our animals, walks etc. I have heard a few stories of people seeking out horses for therapy during this time and really appreciating the connect. Everything is ok with them. They are not worried about the same things we are. They are like... you a wolf... got food? Yum, all is good.

Good on u. Unfortunately the extent of horse treats here are apples, they are super expensive here like $20 per pack so we just buy carrots and apples for Hudson

Hey guys, just thought I’d post a pic from yesterday when I had racked up for my riding lesson. Having two riding lessons a week now to pass the spare time.

My poor Hombre is practically an orphan. I've been busy refinishing the deck and just life in general. DH has been stepping up on horse duty because he has been cleaning up a portion of the pasture, don't know if I had mentioned b4. So, further excuse to be delinquent on my horse duties. Went for feed,clean up last eve. Hombre misses me I can tell I will make time today.
Anywho, we ordered a bunch of hay. Minimum was too much for us so we hui-ed up with friends. Had to borrow a truck for pick up and did 2 loads.

But that lead us to our friends place for a drop off and one of her usual visual treats and heartfelt surprises- that I of course gotta share w/ you all.

Now, this little surprise is from Iluna, one of the rescued horses. Actually the one we gifted to our pal after she lost one of her brood mares. So, I am especially proud and so is my friend.

Just days old. We treaded lightly so not many photos. We were dropping off w/o friend there. What a treat.
