Hey Everyone! Time for some laughs!!! Share you funny or weird stories about horses! Here's mine:
I volunteered at a stable last year to fill up some of the free time that i *thought* I had (tried to fit it among dressage, XC, jumper, and equitation training, didn't work out!). There were two HILARIOUS halflingers! one was jilly, the other was clarissa. Jilly was probably around 14-13.2 hh. haven't seen her for a while! Clarissa was somewhere around 16 (I'm pretty sure she's a cross!). ANYWAY, these were the NAUGHTIEST mares ever!! I once saw Jilly stand up on two legs and CLIMB over her stall door, to reach some hay wisps in the isle. They both had to be led with chains over their noses! sooooo, it was a HOT summer day, they were both in season, and we were running late due to lack of staff. The manager comes up to me and says
"go get Jilly and Clarissa and hose them off. hurry we're runnig late!" so of course I went and fetched them from the pasture. Well, their chains were not on the fence, just leads and halters, and I was NOT going to go ALL THE WAY back from high pasture to get them and waste 15 more minutes. I got both the mares, one in each hand, and brought them out to the hose (there was no wash stall). They fought me tooth and hoof EVERY step!! I think I was wetter then they were in the end. I come running, dripping and steaming, into the stable, half trampled, wrestling with the minpin and the giant. the manager was standing in the corner, red in the face, laughing so hard I thought she would blow up. I asked what was so funny.
"I didn't mean at the same time!"
I didn't think it was so funny.
