Horse Talk

Hi everyone, I just found this thread and was really enthused to find an active horse thread. I have 2 horses, a 3 year old AQHA Two Id Jack bred gelding and a 7 year old Arabian/paint mare.
I'm very much in love with that stallion!!! He's gorgeous! Id like to breed my Paint/Arabian mare in the next couple years if I can find a stud I really like. My girl is Khemosabi bred on the top; Khartoon Khlassic is her sire.

Hi! Welcome to the thread! :D :frow

That would be so cool. I'm still looking, but I REEEEALLY like Desperado. :love
Khemosabi is a name I'm seeing more and more as I research studs and such. :hmm  Got any pics of her?

Tried posting some but having fits with the site and my new Galaxy S7 Edge agreeing on things.
I'll try again.
This is Carmel Khiss. 7/8 Arabian and 1/8 Paint.

This is Phoenix my gelding. Took the pic last summer. He's currently in training so not at home now.

Khiss definitely has the famous Khemosabi temperament. She's a pleaser and loves her people. She's heading to training when Phoenix gets back and I'm Really looking forward to riding her!!!

Nice. She's really pretty!

Armira's sire is in the middle east now.... I must research her pedigree more.

GUYS BEY SHAH IS IN MIRA'S PEDIGREE TWICE!!! :th:th:th:th:th:th:th

Bey Shah is the sire of Desperado.

I think.
:hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm

Yeah, no more Desperado. :hit

Well i probably still could....

here are the link's to both of their pedigrees.... think that Shah is far enough back in Mira's bloodline?
Mira's pedigree
Desperado's pedigree
Honestly I wouldn't think twice about doing more Bey Shah if you like him. He's a long way back in the pedigree on the top and not that close on the bottom either. I've been told that if it's farther back than the grandparent that their influence is pretty minimal actually. I've seriously considered breeding Khiss to a Khemosabi son or grandson and she's a granddaughter. A friend who's been in the Arabian world for years thought it would make a nice pairing as well. I'm moving away from that idea tho as I'm Really wanting to use a stud over 15hh and most Khemosabi get are in the 14hh area.
That's just my take on things tho. My first requirement is outstanding temperament, then good confirmation and athletic ability for the discipline I'm interested in, next height and lastly color. Of course, genetics likely to be a good match with those in Khiss' background is in there too.

Okay, I just needed a second opinion.
I'm still learning the "big names" in the arab world, but I jut looked up Bey Shah and HOLY MOTHER OF YODA I LOVE HIM.
And i sincerely doubt that mom will care OR notice, so i won't have to explain that.

Yes, i agree. I'd want to meet him first, handle him, lunge him, maybe ride him around if he's broke enough. I don't want a "studdish" stallion to cover my sweet unicorn.

Also if you noticed Desperados Majik has the same granddam on both sides. You might not want to breed to a mare that's double bred with that same horse like that but then again it might work too. Linebreeding is definitely a thing that can work for you if done correctly, but it can also magnify negative traits just like the positive ones you're after.

Would you do a live breeding? I plan to have Khiss AI'd whenever I get to that point. One thing I did notice about Majik is that his head isn't quite as pretty as I like but he's still young too. I'd like to see some conformation pictures of him and a video of him moving out naturally that's not in slow motion. I really like his breeding and I'm definitely going to keep him in mind for future consideration!

I'm still learning about the big names in the Arabian world myself. I'm lucky enough to have an outstanding mentor that I run everything by before I jump into something. One thing I have learned is that it pays to find what's going to work for You personally and not just what looks flashy or is charismatic. Khiss has an impeccable temperament that meshes very well with my own. Of my two little sisters the one who is temperamented like me loves her as well and Khiss is fascinated with her. The other one Khiss refuses to have anything to do with. Incidentally the second one is quite aggressive and gets a long better with a horse thats more dominant and challenging rather than a sensitive horse that can be reactive if too much pressure is applied. Its all about finding the bloodline and type that's right for you.
