Here are pictures of them at 24 hours, 1 month, and 3 months.
What is it exactly about the roan that makes his build better than the palominos?

And here's pictures of the dams, they're the only ones I could find.

I like the roan's dam better as well, from what I can see of the pics.

The roan's overall build just seems smoother, more even. The pal's neck and head don't tie in as well, and his hind legs are always strung out behind him.

Okay, so I'm gonna ramble a little and fill everyone in.
My horse herd got a lot bigger and more colorful today.
I traded Jade for that black colt I posted a while back, and a few hundred dollars, now, the black colt isn't really a horse I wanted but I could not for the life of me get Jade sold (mostly because of her age, everyone wanted her as a broodmare or something to work hard but changed their mind when they saw she was 16), so I gave in and took the colt. I liked the colt, but then again I like 90% of all the horses out there lol. So I just figured what the heck, I'll keep him. WELL. Then I saw those two colts (the palomino and roan) and they actually are horses that I WANT, so I was gonna sell the colt and buy one except for one thing, I was probably gonna lose quite a bit of money trying to sell a weanling this time of year. But I did find someone who wanted to trade horses with me. She had 2 grade geldings she'd trade, one is a year and 9 months, the other 2.5 years and has about 10 rides on him. So I figured, sure, I could trade and although it'd be a LOT of shuffling around, I could get them sold a lot easier than the black colt, then I could use that money to buy one of the others.
But here's the problem.
She picked up my colt and dropped off her geldings today, and I REALLY like them. Like a lot.
So now I'm super confused,
Do I want two adorable and quirky grade geldings, or do I want one AWESOME looking colt with the same great grandsire as June?!
I guess I'm going to spend the next week or 2 working with the geldings and then decide based off their personalities.
Whichever I decide, if I keep them or if I get one of the colts, after that I will be done buying and selling for a very long time.
And about the two geldings,
The first one is "Chex" (which I'll be changing if I keep him) he's 2.5 years old, 14.1 hands, red sabino (?), and he's a quarter horse, Appaloosa, mustang cross.
The other is "Voodoo" (I might actually keep that name), he's a year and nine months, 14.1 hands, buckskin tobiano (I think that's the right pattern?) with one blue eye and the other has a sliver of blue, he's either a paint or a paint/quarter horse.
They're very sweet boys. Voodoo seems smart, but very nervous, and Chex is very confident and sure footed.
Regardless of what I do with them, they should be fun to work with.
Oh, and question, with Voodoo being almost 2 and 14.1 hands, when I start desensitizing him to things do you think it'd be okay to put a saddle on him? Obviously I wouldn't sit in it.

"Paint" is a registry; unless the horse has registered parents and is registered with the APHA, technically it's just a pinto (though a lot of folks don't seem to know that)

Yeah, I need someone to break down all the paint stuff for me in the dumbest way possible because I don't understand ANY of it.
And I need name suggestions, for both of these boys and the filly that's coming home soon.
I already have June, and the fillys name right now is Jazz/Jazzy, and I was thinking of keeping it simple and just changing it to Jasmine.
And I could give the boys names that start with the same as each other, but different than the girls, or I can do all J's, or I can totally switch it up and rename the filly something different and just have everyone with different sounding names.
So give me lots of suggestions!
P.s. I do think voodoo fits the paint but I'm not sure I like the way it rolls off the tongue, so maybe something with similar meaning?
And I'm considering naming the sabino 'Copper'.
Here's the filly again

I like names that are also things, like 'June' is name but also a month, and 'Rose' is a name and a flower, and 'Jade' is a name and a stone, etc., if that makes sense.
