I would say an acre would be fine for 2. That may even be more room than needed. A 10x20 area for a pen would likely be more an big enough. How much room do you think two minis would need? Room in the shelter and the pen and of course the pasture

I have a 30x30 shed on the end of my barn and during bad weather I have seen up to 6 horses (full sized) all standing under it with no problems. Now there are only 3 full sized and 1 mini over there but there is a TON of room in there with them all there. Thanks for your help and the quick response!
That's not too much room then
I'm not sure if we could fence in the whole entire thing but I could probably just watch them while they graze and/or fence only part of it.
And wow that small!? Guess they don't need 50x50 then![]()

So, to pen them up or lock them inside, then a small area is fine. A mini can get to a gallop in less than 60 feet, so they don't need a lot of room to move around. I can walk with my mini while he's trotting... tiny little legs.
We have a tiny little 8x8 (standard is 12x12 for reference) stall at the barn we're at now, we needed to use it at the time, so we put one of the arabians in it as they are small. One day, 2 arabians AND the big 1,300+ pound draft cross all went in there at the same time... They were fine, no one could move, but they all crammed in there just fine... lolThanks for all the detail! That makes sense, I've heard stories of 3 horses cramming in even just regular stall sized (like 10x10 or 12×12 etc) or smaller type sheds. Silly horses LOL
Wow they get to a gallop fast! Maybe it's just them being smaller? And haha OMG that sounds adorable!
I was thinking more for like them being in it during the day/living there in case I can'tmake a separate pasture. But I am going to try to.
I will take pictures and maybe a video tour of the property lol
