Horses slaughtered in FL?

It is a horrible thing and I just cannot imagine! That being said, I have a hard time believing that this was just about horsemeat. With all the free horses all over the place, why would they take such a risk? Something just does not add up...

Personally, I'm thinking this particular one - King Quizi - was an insurance thing. Don't quote me here cause I'm just guessing, but it was a 4 year old colt who had started 11 times and yet to break it's maiden and hadn't raced since last november??? Me thinks someone was tired of wasting money on training and wanted to recoup some losses. Especially since they can't seem to tie the kid to the previous 20 incidents. I'm gonna guess copy-cat crimes. I would not be surprised to find out the kid was related to someone who worked for or personally knew the owner.

Of course it's my supposition in a hypothetical case of ALLEGED conspiracy on an alleged crime and I'm sure everyone is totally innocent......I'm just saying......hypothetically speaking......
