Is making tack hard? I have been buying the tack for mine but its kind of expensive.

Not terribly hard. I've found tutorials on YouTube, and you can find parts on Etsy, Ebay, and www.riorondo.com. The last one I really love! Here's a picture of a saddle that I made from a kit.
