My hoof nippers and rasp arrived today! I was standing in the kitchen saying “wooowee! These are so smooth and are going to cut like butter!” My husband walked out and said “I was wondering what in the world you were getting excited about and here it’s a pair of hoof nippers…” hey some girls like jewelry and others are happy with a nice pair of nippers🤣 I am so excited to try these out!

I originally wasn’t planning on it, but after having a guy come out and trim the horses I was like screw this I can do a better job myself. There are cowboys, vets and farriers in my family so trimming my horse is something I was taught to do as a teenager. Knowing the anatomy of the hoof and the importance of what a good balanced trim looks like was something my family preached liked preacher on Sundays lol the guy who came out to do the trim was working with dull tools, having a hard time getting it done and took longer than I’ve seen anyone take on trimming a single hoof. I’m talking 30 minutes per hoof. The yearlings lost patience heck even I was staring at the wall bored. My cousin was like “why don’t you just do them yourself?” and honestly I should have just started with that.

That's awesome, we've had 3 farriers the past 6 years, finally found a good one. My horse goes lame pretty easy if her hooves aren't trimmed properly.

I was wondering if anyone has a mini and if so how much they charge to do yours hooves? They charge the same price for us..
Every farrier I have dealt with charges $5-$20 less for ponies depending on their standard charge. This last one was $70 per horse for the yearlings and $60 for my pony.
