That’s so cool! How old is he and how long have you had him? How is it training him? Sorry for all the questions!
We've had him about three years, he's about 8, and training him is great, but slower than most people do it. We are not Mustang Makeover people.😆 He is a sturdy, reliable guy, a bit food anxious and has the typical mustang 'I'll die if I don't eat right NOW!' mentality. He also gets fat on air, so not a great combo. So we are transitioning from him doing everything he does now with treats to without. My mom can ride him a bit bareback, but he's not entirely under saddle yet. His groundwork is really good. Fun fact, we bought and started both our rescue thoroughbred cross (6) (2 when purchased) and mustang at the same time, and both bareback on one rein. I helped with groundwork and prep, and my mom got on.

One of the first times she was on the mustang, a helicopter flew right above the arena and a dog came and jumped on the mustang. He didn't even flinch! I was on a half blind paint bareback at the time as well, and the dog came for him afterwards too. Sometimes the horses you'd think would be likely to spook are the ones that are best under pressure!

That’s awesome! It’s also so great you were able to train them together!

That’s impressive!
My great uncle did. And boy was she a handfull at first. But in the end she was his best horse he has ever had. She passed a few years ago but was so healthy
Do you know how old she was when she passed?

Just curious, what’s the oldest horse y’all have ever known/owned? There’s a paint at the rescue I go to, Sparky, who’s around 34 and still going strong. :)
The oldest horse I've known was a thoroughbred named Isaac, 26 or so. The oldest horse we own is 22. Silly me, I forgot a horse a family member owns, she is about 30.

Mine have just been chillin' and staying cool while I'm busy with my other projects.

I've been busting my behind harvesting corn, pumpkins, winter squash and dehydrating carrots and apples for storage. Saving seeds from my tomatoes, digging up potatoes. The list goes on.

I do have to give my boy a bath and re-braid his forelock. He also needs to start his under saddle training.
