Hey! How is everyone and their horses?

I went on a bareback ride last Thursday, and boy I have not ridden bareback in forever and my inner thighs aren't thanking me. 😆 Ginger and I went out walking on the trails and then loped and jogged around a field for a bit while we had some dry ground before it rained again. It's been raining so insanely much here everything is just one big mud pit. 😭

Also, I'm learning being near a racetrack / racehorse training facility is a big plus for prepping horses for shows lol. (our riding space is right next to the racetrack) I'm riding my trainer's 4yo, and yesterday there was SO much going on -- jockeys practicing running out the starting gate, golf carts, and Jett's biggest fear: the big terrifying tractor rumbling around. 😅 Thankfully she did good and never spooked! We're hoping to show her for the first time this coming fall/winter.

Over the summer I rode bareback for the first time and I loved it! The barn where your at is so beautiful! Are you riding a different horse now?
Good morning! I'm a returning BYC'r from years gone by. We have 2 quarter horses. I lost my Arabian mare in July, she was 28.

Sorry about your mare she is so pretty and I love the expression on her face! Your other two are very handsome! Glad you could join this thread!

Bareback is so much fun! I rode bareback a lot for a time but lately haven't done it much. And thanks! It really is beautiful.

I am still riding Ginger when I can, but I have more recently begun to ride my trainer's 4yo Morgan horse, Jett, who we want to show. Right now my trainer isn't riding because her back is bothering her, and she's letting me get ready to / show (in the future) Jett and possibly her other mare as well. Besides Jett and Ginger, I am training one other horse (an ottb) and exercise riding one (a draft cross) I had done some training with as well.

That’s great!

She’s so beautiful! Have you made any progress on your painting?
I fully intended to have the painting finished by now, but my aunt was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer very suddenly. I decided to fly back to the east coast and be with her until she passed. I am back home now and started shading the forest part today.
