Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It was a beautiful foggy morning today. One of those chilly but not too cold FL mornings lol, just perfect for a ride. Yesterday you weren't even able to see this far, the fog was so thick!

Beautiful

So a little nutty experiment I tried on myself. I noticed such huge improvements with the horses hair growth, hair shine, muscle tone, hoof health and overall mood after putting them on supplements and changing their diet. It got me thinking about the combination I was using for them and my own health. So I started supplementing myself in a similar manner and put myself on a diet that focused on cutting out sugar/starches and limiting my carbs to only complex and not going overboard with them (to clarify I did not cut out all carbs or go keto). I also tried to make sure the carbs I was adding had a decent fiber content. In addition I made sure to increase my water intake not just for hydration purposes, but we all know how important drinking water is for a horses digestive system and also to prevent colic. I add plain salt to my horses mash to increase water intake so since I was already making my meals from scratch myself to ensure I knew exactly what was going into them I added plain sea salt to each meal. When it came to supplements my main focus was on finding human grade high absorption clean supplements that contained:
-Magnesium (Solaray Magnesium Glycinate)
-Protein (Heart and Soil because it is unflavored and has minimal ingredients)
-Flax (Manitoba flax meal)
-Vitamin E (Solaray women’s liposomal multivitamin. I went this route because it has several of the vitamins/minerals I was looking for and that way I am not taking so many capsules every day)
-B vitamins (Solaray women’s liposomal multi)
-Minerals (Solaray women’s liposomal multi)
-Probiotic (Solaray probiotic)
-Digestive Enzymes (Heart and Soil Gut and Digestion which uses animal organs that are high in digestive enzymes. I went this route because I have a hard time stomaching plant enzymes and they actually have the opposite effect on my digestive system.)

**Results so far**
I have been doing this for two months now and at the start I went to the salon to have my hair trimmed shoulder length so I had a good measuring point. I also always use the same hair stylist so she knew exactly where my hair was to start, but she did not know about my experiment. Well yesterday I went in to have my hair colored and as she was combing my hair she said “What have you been doing? Your skin is glowing and your hair! It has grown a good 3 inches since I saw you last. I don’t think I have ever seen someone’s hair grow that fast. You also have these baby hairs growing all over.”

My digestion has gotten significantly better, my mood feels more stabilized, my energy has increased and I have been sleeping like a rock. I have also lost a few pounds and toned up more without doing any crazy exercising. My water intake has naturally increased where before I felt like I had to force myself to drink water and now I drink 16oz at a time 5x a day no problem. My husband said “You are usually pretty calm, but now you are Bob Marley on a beach singing everything is going to be alright calm”😂 Long story short supplementing yourself like your horse has worked for me so far!

I think I am going to permanently keep the supplements and diet. My hair usually grows a decent 3/4”-1” a month, but never has it grown 1 1/2” ever. Not only that, but the changes in my digestion have been border line miraculous. I have had stomach problems since I was a kid and have never gone a week without at least a day of nausea or painful bloating until now. That alone has been worth it for me. Oh and being able to sleep. I used to wake up 5 times a night at least and now I wake up only once immediately falling back to sleep .

Pretty cool! Maybe we should all eat like horses! lol

Anyone else think horses running is the most beautiful thing to watch? When we were building the pastures my husband asked me where I wanted the pastures. I told him I wanted the pastures right behind the house for three reasons. 1. So I could look out the window when doing dishes and then dishes would never be a chore. 2. So I could always start my day off right by watching the horses and the sunrise while drinking my coffee 3. I wanted to end all of my evenings peacefully watching the horses running in the sunset while I drink my tea on the back deck.
This is my view everyday❤️
