Anyone else think horses running is the most beautiful thing to watch? When we were building the pastures my husband asked me where I wanted the pastures. I told him I wanted the pastures right behind the house for three reasons. 1. So I could look out the window when doing dishes and then dishes would never be a chore. 2. So I could always start my day off right by watching the horses and the sunrise while drinking my coffee 3. I wanted to end all of my evenings peacefully watching the horses running in the sunset while I drink my tea on the back deck.
This is my view everyday❤️

Thanks for the picture! Your horses are just so beautiful! There was a horse that lived next to me, I had permission to go visit her at the fence after she got loose in my yard lol. She used to get frisky and run and I loved watching her. She also used to wait at the corner of the fence for me. I believe she was older though and died.

I love watching horses be horses.

We got some fresh powder thanks to two back-to-back lake effect snowstorms, so the horses got to go out on some thick, fluffy snow after being in 'lockdown' for a day.

When I put my gang out, I started with my stallion. Got him out, he simply stood at his hay pile and proceeded to calmly eat.

I go and get my gelding thinking "how many hail Marys am I needing today?" LOL!

Well, Joey was feeling his oats because he trotted out of the barn, tried to amp up my stallion cuz they're besties and he was in party mode and thought my stallion needed to join in on the fun, but as my stallion ignored him (food is ALWAYS more important to him) Joey decides to lay down and have a good roll.

I wasn't going to let that happen, so up he comes and I manage to get him to his pasture and let him loose.

He trots away and comes to a halt and proceeds to do about 5 double barrel kicks in place. Then he takes off dramatically, running at full speed and squealing. I stood at his gate and just watched the show.

So a little nutty experiment I tried on myself. I noticed such huge improvements with the horses hair growth, hair shine, muscle tone, hoof health and overall mood after putting them on supplements and changing their diet. It got me thinking about the combination I was using for them and my own health. So I started supplementing myself in a similar manner and put myself on a diet that focused on cutting out sugar/starches and limiting my carbs to only complex and not going overboard with them (to clarify I did not cut out all carbs or go keto). I also tried to make sure the carbs I was adding had a decent fiber content. In addition I made sure to increase my water intake not just for hydration purposes, but we all know how important drinking water is for a horses digestive system and also to prevent colic. I add plain salt to my horses mash to increase water intake so since I was already making my meals from scratch myself to ensure I knew exactly what was going into them I added plain sea salt to each meal. When it came to supplements my main focus was on finding human grade high absorption clean supplements that contained:
-Magnesium (Solaray Magnesium Glycinate)
-Protein (Heart and Soil because it is unflavored and has minimal ingredients)
-Flax (Manitoba flax meal)
-Vitamin E (Solaray women’s liposomal multivitamin. I went this route because it has several of the vitamins/minerals I was looking for and that way I am not taking so many capsules every day)
-B vitamins (Solaray women’s liposomal multi)
-Minerals (Solaray women’s liposomal multi)
-Probiotic (Solaray probiotic)
-Digestive Enzymes (Heart and Soil Gut and Digestion which uses animal organs that are high in digestive enzymes. I went this route because I have a hard time stomaching plant enzymes and they actually have the opposite effect on my digestive system.)

**Results so far**
I have been doing this for two months now and at the start I went to the salon to have my hair trimmed shoulder length so I had a good measuring point. I also always use the same hair stylist so she knew exactly where my hair was to start, but she did not know about my experiment. Well yesterday I went in to have my hair colored and as she was combing my hair she said “What have you been doing? Your skin is glowing and your hair! It has grown a good 3 inches since I saw you last. I don’t think I have ever seen someone’s hair grow that fast. You also have these baby hairs growing all over.”

My digestion has gotten significantly better, my mood feels more stabilized, my energy has increased and I have been sleeping like a rock. I have also lost a few pounds and toned up more without doing any crazy exercising. My water intake has naturally increased where before I felt like I had to force myself to drink water and now I drink 16oz at a time 5x a day no problem. My husband said “You are usually pretty calm, but now you are Bob Marley on a beach singing everything is going to be alright calm”😂 Long story short supplementing yourself like your horse has worked for me so far!
What's good for the horse is good for the rider! I started exercising more after I got Max. I figured I was going to need to be in shape to get him in shape, and I couldn't ask him to do something I wouldn't. I also started drinking more tea as a way of taking in more water and drinking different teas at different times; as well as changing what I ate depending on how I was feeling. I eat fewer processed foods too. There is a marked change for the better in how I feel mentally and physically on days when I get enough exercise and eat well. Also, just spending time with the horses, even just doing the chores makes my day better. Unless it's 20°. Then it's not fun. And doing the chores has made me so much stronger. I used to struggle lifting like 30 lbs, (Before the three boys.) now I lift 60 pound hay bales almost daily.
