Hello I have a horse who got out and into my feed room where there was a bag of moldy grain opened. I gave her a bran mash this morning and i want to know what i need to look for from her as i dont want to ride her or work her until i find out what i need to look for and also i know she didnt even eat 4 scoops of it as the bag is almost full.
Please help me i am 16 and this is my first horse that i have owned and i have had her for 4 years and want some help fast thank you all.

What do i look for though as i am trying to find out so i know what i can do.

I have had horses for many many years. Different horses will show diff signs of illness. If she ate moldy grain she might colic. When did she eat the grain?
I would watch her closely for about 3 days. After that she should be fine. Signs to look for unusual sweating, biting at her stomach, pawing the ground, rolling getting up and rolling again. Being grumpy.
If she shows any of these signs call the vet ASAP. If you have mineral oil and know how to give it to her I would. It won't hurt her. I'd also take her off all grain and etc and have her on only hay till u know she is over it. Hope this helps.
How much grain is she used to getting? B/c if its not that much off from the amount she ate then that is also a good thing b/c she is used to consuming grain in simslar amounts

Also walking her helps her bowls to move and pass it out quicker.

If she does start to show signs of colic and rolling she can lay down but do NOT let her roll. Call the vet and keep her on her feet and walking...
