I almost got the little filly haltered yesterday but she bolted when I was buckle ing it.Friday she WILL be haltered. I'm gunna work on it for 1hr and 30minutes. Lol
That might be a bit long for a training session! You want to work for fifteen minutes, take a play break, give her some alone time then work for another fifteen minutes.
When teaching halter there's no need to buckle up too early. Let her sniff, feel, try it on, take it off, try it on, take it off, so she knows its not a permanent head trap. When she's totally comfortable then try the buckle. You'll get it eventually. Be patient!
He is SOOOO CUTE!!This is our horse, Peanut. He is a 7, rising 8 year old Miniature gelding who apparently has a bit of Welsh in him. And if you wondering about his funky hairdo, he had major lice when his previous owners first got him, so had to be fully clipped and had his mane hogged. The pic in my avvie is of him too![]()
