Horses!!!!!!!!

I almost got the little filly haltered yesterday but she bolted when I was buckle ing it. :( Friday she WILL be haltered. I'm gunna work on it for 1hr and 30minutes. Lol

That might be a bit long for a training session! You want to work for fifteen minutes, take a play break, give her some alone time then work for another fifteen minutes.

When teaching halter there's no need to buckle up too early. Let her sniff, feel, try it on, take it off, try it on, take it off, so she knows its not a permanent head trap. When she's totally comfortable then try the buckle. You'll get it eventually. Be patient!

nah, it't not too long, I mean I wouldnt time how long I did it, but do it however long. Not trying to start an argument or anything, but when I was halter breaking my colt, I made him put it on. Wether I pinned him or what, he was putting it on. Leading now was difficult. They pull. When he pulled I stood my ground not giving in, but when he stopped I released the preasure. When it came to walking. He would be stubborn to I would pul, once he stepped forward, I released the pressure and said good boy. By 3 months old he was halter broke lead trained and a perfect angel for trailering. Our vet was very shocked at how well trained he was.

This is our horse, Peanut. He is a 7, rising 8 year old Miniature gelding who apparently has a bit of Welsh in him. And if you wondering about his funky hairdo, he had major lice when his previous owners first got him, so had to be fully clipped and had his mane hogged. The pic in my avvie is of him too :)
He is SOOOO CUTE!!
