Horses!!!!!!!!

Ok so I finally figured out how to upload pics on this phone.
I told sternrose I would try to post the pic of my mini Dakota in the house under the Christmas tree but I couldn't find it. But here is a pic just to show you how wonderful he is and how much I trust him!!
400

That's true trust!

Oh yes! He is a one of a kind little horse! We take him to church functions, birthday parties, old people homes! He lets kids pull on him push on him poke him, ride him, pull his tail and even walk under him. He is amazing!!!!

Why is that an "awww?" There are thousands of 'em out there that should be but aren't. It's a shame it's so gosh-darned expensive to spay mares, because there's a bunch of them that would be a lot easier to deal with without their hormones making them crazy. To say nothing about the animals whose conformation problems really shouldn't be passed on to another generation, but somebody still breeds them because "I just love that color!!"

I don't breed horses, I really don't pay attention to the way a horse "looks". As long as the horse is healthy, happy, and not in pain due to some "deformity" and has a great potential to train, a good personality, and a willingness to learn and most important the ability to trust. Even if that horse is acting like a wild crazy out if control horse I like to find out his history. If his history tells you that know one has treated this horse with respect then I'm willing to start from scratch and try to earn there trust and 90% of the time they end up bring great horses. I am one of those people who say " there is no bad color for a good horse".
All that being said, yes Dakota is gelding. I bought him gelding. He was gelded b/c of bad confirmation. He has a pop belly, large knee joints, a curved in ear, a curved in hoof. I just thank god his owner didn't have him put down as a foal b/c he is the most amazing boy ever. I have had a couple vets look him over for any discomfort that he might be in. They both said due to him being so short at 27 inches at the whither and weighing 105 lbs that the curved hoof doesn't cause any discomfort. They said he just adapted as a foal b/c he had to and has never known anything else. He walks trots and gallops with out issues. Internal wise he is healthy as a horse. Lol! Of corse he comes with a little more up keep. I have to keep his hoofs trimmed just right and the little curved in hoof you have to keep clean and dry b/c thrush really likes to hide in there but other wise we treat him the same as. Y other boys. And thank goodness my other horses don't pick on him. They are all very gentle with him. My appy will sometime "snake" him but that's all. And that's just to back him up do they can get the "best" hay spots. But then Dakota will come walking in and eat on the other side.
I know some people breed for for conformation and I'm glad they do. That's how we have such beautiful horses out in this world. But me I like the differnt, the unique, the odd balls. B/c I'm an odd ball too!!!!

I said awwww, becuz I find it amazing that those kids can do that a not ge lt hurt. I trust Xenia, but not even close to laying on the ground with her, some time sitting is dangerous, that's why I said swww.

Hi! I haven't been on in FOREVER! Busy with animals, in a good way. : ) I am thinking about buying my foal! What's up? How are everyone's animals?
