Horses!!!!!!!!

So those are genuine roans. That'll teach me to make sure I'm awake before I post! Obviously, as I said about Blondie - no characteristics.  So many folks are just gaga about any kind of Appy; I saw white hairs and just assumed . . . .

I'd heard for many years that roan was homozygous lethal, but it has since been determined that it isn't.

Sternrose, that's a typo, isn't it? You didn't really mean 45 inches, did you?

Why would it be a typo? She's a large mini that has papers and is registered in the two things she can be. The breeders in the mini horse club. I just don't remember every detail.

The American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) only registers them up to 34". The American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR) goes up to 38," as does the World Class Miniature Horse Registry. That is considerably less than 45 inches.

At 45 inch's.... Then shes a pony not a mini.
Minis are only a height breed and not a breed of their own. Which means any horse that measures in at 38 inch's tall from the last hair of their mane is consideded a mini. If tall...then pony until horse height.

And yep my horses are true roans. And when I breed roan to roan I get roan. My stallion is suspected to also carry the Brindle gene too which is Very rare and is carried in his bloodlines. He has not been tested for brindle but I have been told by other breeders who have brindle minis he looks to be a carrier and highly urge me to have him tested. I just haven't.

The WCMHC is a fake registrey and ain't worth the paper its printed on. It was started by a person who didn't want to follow the A and R standards so in a fit of rage that's how WCMHR came about. Personally for when I hear a horse is reg with that... Their still grade.

The "rage quitter" created the "Gold Seal" registration. WCMHR actually does hold shows around here; they aren't as widespread, well known or respected as AMHA and AMHR (some would say, with good reason).

I second the vote to check out Lil Beginnings. It is an awesome site. I used to be a member there, but got tired of getting my nose smacked (there are some folks there that seem to feel you absolutely are entitled to an opinion, namely THEIRS!
