Horses!!!!!!!!

The perlino filly was 1 of the 3 I lost at birth.
The other one was the silver buckskin filly and had to but the sorrel roan colt down at 6 months old due to a health issue.

Yes sorry I did mean perlino(auto correct... Grrrr) I'm sorry about those poor foals. Sometimes it happens but it's still do sad

It dose happen anytime someone desides to breed animals. I am fortunate as my odds been very good compare to lots of other breeders. But all the happy and healthy foals I have bred for make up for the few I did loose. :)

The breeder of Xenia, her matriarch mare died at birth.
Here's her story
It's was like 1am the mare had been in labor for 3 hrs and she's dieing. So they decide to give the mare a booster, 30 minutes later the fillys born but not breathing and moms very weak and is close to death, the vet rubs the foal down while the assistant tends to mom, it's been 5 minute since the filly was born and she's still not breathing, the mom is still very weak but is standing now. Vet pronounces foal dead, he gets his shovels and the start digging the hole, out of the corner of the owners eye, she sees the foal standing and nursing. She stops shoveling and runs over to the foal, vet and assistant run over and help the foal nurse. That was 10yrs ago mom had died 3 years after birth of the foal. The fillys name is Faith. She stands 45inches and weight every bit of 450lbs. She mothers 5 foals. :)

So those are genuine roans. That'll teach me to make sure I'm awake before I post! Obviously, as I said about Blondie - no characteristics.

So many folks are just gaga about any kind of Appy; I saw white hairs and just assumed . . . .

I'd heard for many years that roan was homozygous lethal, but it has since been determined that it isn't.

Sternrose, that's a typo, isn't it? You didn't really mean 45 inches, did you?

This is my mini - Sir Dynamo's Benjamin Echo. He has been "free-leased" by my friend in Oklahoma since April 2012. We didn't have room on the trailer to bring him to Maryland with us when we moved on April 27th, 2012. So now he hangs out with her 3 other mini's and gives cart rides every Sunday at their "Cowboy Church". Pretty good life for the little guy!

Wow! Poor mom but miracle foal!

Yea but she might be selling faith, she's becoming to dangerous. The owner breeds to give back to 4-h kids and kids who want to work with minis. So when the big lead mares are having the time to prove domanic it's to dangerous for the younger kids. I've been ran over by faith. Hoove mares on my arms and legs, just broising though not injurys. Thank god!
