She could ask the owner if she can buy the horses or if she can have the horse then sell the horses/foals to a nice owner who can properly care for them.

well she may not have the money.. idk but that is a good idea

I don't have the money. And the owner does not want to sell them either.

they arent doing anything about it because they have shelter and water. We had the cops called on our mare who had cancer who was way worse then her. Even though she was fed daily. They said beyond her being thin, there was nothing they could or would do for the fact that our horses were fed daily, had water, and shelter. So they wont do anything about it sadly.

also if you were to sneak them some horse cookies, alfalfa pellets or cubes, apples, or carrots. You cant get into trouble due to them being on your property.

I give them treats, but I don't have the money to buy anything that will make a difference. Plus I can't walk 20 miles to the feed store to buy it.

But like I said, I asked a favor of one of the deputies and he's helping me any way he can, including delivering the donated hay to my house for me.

ive delt with thin horses before and fattenting them up, but ok. Wish I could help...

Tel the town people. Get nebiors involved. Raise awareness. Save up money , you have to get more people's help. Those horses are going to die!

Their not gonna die. The foal is in good weight and mare def needs some extra love but not so bad that they will die. I just worry about others that go by and will complain but if ya have locals and deputies involved then ya should be somewhat safe from procuration. I hope she gets better but def not good for her either. Foal looks pretty good tho.

As I said, I am in no danger of getting in trouble because of the horses. It is a VERY small town (one square mile in size) in the middle of nowhere, and the sheriff is local (the county Sheriff's Office is located here in town at the courthouse). Everyone knows everyone. Everyone knows the story. Everyone knows who the horses belong to and who is to blame for their condition. And everyone has their noses and opinions in on the matter.

I don't just sit by and watch. I tell everyone about it and tell them others need to be reporting them as well.

I just highly suggest that ya don't post pics then if you feel threatened as this is a public forum and folks see pics before reading and jump to conclusions and will attack. Anything you write comes off as excuses to some folks and although theirs always 2 sides of the story... Unfortunately pics speak louder then words.
I'm sure all is good but I've now seen ya have to defend yourself twice between 2 diff times you posted pics and I see no diff in the made conditions. I'm not trying to be nasty and if I come off that way I am super sorry but remember this a public forum and them pics I personally would not post due to folks that will get snappy with you about them regardless the story behind them .

I did not see the other post, srry. But I have seen horse like that few you got there, that have gone down hill faster than they made it up. Just because they look ok now don't mean they ok. I've seen horse like this that have died. What do there teeth look like? What does it look like when they eat? If there teeth haven't been tended to in a while, it makes it hard to put weight on them. Where's the closest vet? See if they'll do it for free. Get them on dewormed if you haven't already. Give them vitamins. Ask the owner if u can take them on walks to build up muscle tone. Start working with the owner, be freind him. Ask him/her if you can take care of them 3out of 7 days or something like that. Just get the owner to let you work with the horses. Ask the owner if you can "rent" them for 1month. Or some think like that. Is there a local fair? Ask them if you can "show" the horses in open class, so you can put weight on them.
