Host a BYC Traveling Mascot!

What a good dog! To know the difference between a pod and the occupants. When I saw the pic of Blaze chewing on the pod, I admit I got a little scared for our fearless travelers!!

Well Roscoe & Rosie went with me to WA but sadly there were some camera complications so only a couple of photos:

On the way home they got to enjoy the view of the bridges in Portland :

Then we got stuck in traffic because of an accident :

Sunday we were all exhausted and slept in with no adventures

Monday night it's off to work .
( A veterinary specialty clinic that's closed to the public at night but has patients to be cared for )

Roscoe & Rosie checked out the reception area :

They wanted to " check a patient in " so Miss Helpful Blaze played patient for them :

Then of course they had to check that the reception area had comfy chairs :

In the exam room they were facinated by the (plastic) cat skeleton :

Then they took turns making sure they were both still alive ( silly ducks ! ) :

One of the anesthetic machines received a complete inspection :

Then we had a speedy review of the autoclave and how it was used to sterilze surgical instruments :

As they were getting kind of bratty and wanting to do surgery on one another I distracted them in the lab and had them check out slides of cells so I could get some work done :

We folded laundry :

Ok , not quite true. One of us folded laundry and the others played in it :

They were acting a little wild so I thought they might be tired and suggested they check out one of the kennels :

Pretty soon they snuggled under the bedding and went to sleep so I closed the door to keep them safe and went back to my tasks :

Roscoe is having too much fun with Blaze and has been learning about dog training.

Today they went tracking. Roscoe was very excited thinking she was sniffing the ground for worms.
Once I explained that she followed the scent of where someone walked he thought that was a silly thing to do. I told him her goal was to find things on the track that the person had 'dropped'

, then he was raring to go and try it.

"Can we go yet ? "

"sniff, sniff, sniff " Tracking away.

"Found something"

Then they wanted to do agility

Blaze told them and then showed them how it was done :

" There's this thing called an A Frame and you rush up & over. The important thing to make your handler happy is to stop in the yellow part. Like this "

" Do the same on the dogwalk. Make sure you stop in the yellow "

Roscoe and Rosie were bouncing up & down so it we let them have a turn :
Roscoe is almost over the top :

Hey, look , here comes Rosie :
DSC07361.jpg

They raced to the bottom and I was worried they were going to get the zoomies and just take off but they were good little duckies and remembered the lesson :

They zipped up the dogwalk ( Rosie is quite the racing duck ) :

.... and down to the bottom :

" Wheee .......... weave poles ...... "
DSC07369.jpg

" Oh , what's this ? A teeter ? "
DSC07367.jpg

They thought it was cool to hang out on the end.
I didn't have the heart to tell them it was supposed to tilt to the ground. They are just lightweight duckies.
