Tootsie arrived in Iowa today! I opened her up as soon as I found the box, and she was glad to get out to stretch her legs.
The first thing she wanted to do was greet Roo Chicken. Tootsie is so social! Sonny seemed to warm right up to her, and even offered to share his wax worms!
She kindly declined, so Sonny went on about his business and Tootsie came inside to meet the rest of the family. She was a bit intimidated with Diesel Dog at first, but I after I insisted that he was licking his chops from a treat INSTEAD of at her, she settled right in with him. They, too are becoming fast friends!
She could smell that mom had cupcakes in the oven, and insisted on coming in to help finish them up. Look how good they turned out! Thanks mom and Tootsie!
Next it was time for supper. I made Tootsie a place at the table and when she smelled the roast, she sure was glad she declined Roo Chicken's wax worms. She feels bad that he has to eat those, instead of roast, carrots, and potatoes, but after I explained to her that he gets treats from our meals, she was ok with it. She was so hungry that she gobbled up all the food before I could get a pic of the plate mom had filled for her. Silly turkey!
Since she arrived kinda late, we went out to finish out nightly chores. We met mom over at the clothsline and Tootsie insisted on helping her take down the blankets. Tootsie has been so helpful, and she hasn't even been here but a few hours!
When we got back to the garage, mom parked her motorized cart, we call it "the rascal". Tootsie had rode back on it from the clothsline, and wanted to drive, but mom said it was getting too late, and she promised Tootsie she could drive it tomorrow in the daylight. She also told Tootsie she could drive the John Deere, since she had been so helpful
Tootsie says she can't wait for morning!!!
Shortly after we got inside, my dad got home from work. He had been on lots of calls (he works for a utility company) and was really tired. This is the best picture I could get from him tonight, but I'll try again tomorrow and he hopefully won't have to work so long. Tootsie was glad to meet him anyways...
It's getting to be time for bed now. Tootsie thought she would sleep with Diesel on the porch, since they are such good friends now.
But I told her that Diesel comes to the basement and sleeps with me, so she can sleep on Wild-One's bed in my room. She was glad to hear it, since she is awfully tired. We'll see what kind of fun we can find tomorrow, so untill then, Tootsie says, "G'nite from Tator Hill, y'all!"
ETA: Thanks, BluegrassSermas, for the treats! I hope I wasn't supposed to send those on to the next family, I went into the kitchen earlier and found my dad EATING one of the candy sitcks!!!
