I was at Tractor Supply and bought a treat block that looks like a suet block that has hot pepper in it. Is it okay to feed my birdie girls an actual suet block like you put out for the eil song birds?

It is alright to give to your birds. The hot pepper is to keep the squirrels away from it. Most birds like your chickens don't taste the hot pepper. Quite a few people give their chickens suet blocks, home make or bought.

No better or worse then a lot of other treats chickens are given. How good depends a lot on what goes into it. The suet would be a source of energy and oils for feather condition. The grains can be just as good as a good scratch mix. The protein percent may be low depending again on what is in it. As a treat to ease boredom in the run it would work.
