Just looking at that amount of sugar makes my jaws clench.
It would be a great recipe to make for hostess gifts around the holidays, along with a bottle of 'holiday cheer', lol.

We use dark rum, but that is because it is what we have in the house. Light rum would work just as well.

As for the brandy, just regular brandy. I never tried it with a flavored brandy before, not sure how it would taste with one.
